At an early age I was introduced to the wonders of travel, thanks to the native-costumed dolls my grandmother would bring back from her own globe-trotting trips.  As the youngest in the family, I was lucky enough to start going on international trips early as well, and I was hooked right from the start.  I started studying languages the second I could and have always loved learning about foreign cultures and seeing different places.  My whole life I've made decisions that would be lead me in an international direction, from my French major in college, to my international MBA, to my previous jobs in international sales & marketing. I eventually found myself in my “dream” job – planning trips for international tourists coming to the USA.

Unfortunately, after a few years, I felt a bit caged in by the constraints of that job, and though I was using my language skills regularly, I was just unsatisfied.  I left that job to fulfill a dream of traveling the world (at least part of the way around it), and it was on that trip that I came to the realization that I really was good at planning travel.  I found that when I planned out a day’s activities, it always seemed to work out well, and everyone had fun!  When I left the planning to others, there were always problems – either we got lost finding the place we were meant to go, or the meals were never at decent meal-times, or other minor disasters that leave you unhappy and feeling like you missed out on the destination.  Once I realized that I have this knack, I knew it was time for me to branch out on my own and really start planning fantastic days for others.  Thus, Matheson Travel was born.  I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to hear from clients upon their return how much fun they had discovering a place for themselves, and how helpful my suggestions were to them.  I can't wait to do the same for you!
